1. Short version
There is no advertising network, no social pixel, no session recording, no fingerprinting and no cross-site tracking on eyesayaac.com.
2. Categories we use
| Category | State | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Always on | Storage needed to serve pages, keep the site secure, and remember the choice you made in this tool. Exempt from consent under the ePrivacy rules because the site cannot be delivered without it. |
| Analytics | Off by default | Would let us count visits and see which pages help. No analytics provider is currently installed, so switching this on has no effect today. |
| Marketing | Off by default | Would allow measurement of a campaign. No marketing provider is currently installed and we do not use behavioural advertising. |
Optional categories are never pre-ticked. Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting: both are a single button of equal prominence in the first-visit banner.
3. What is actually stored
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
eyesay.consent | localStorage (first party) | Your consent decision, the categories you allowed, the notice version (2026-08-25-v1) and the date you decided. It contains no user identifier, no device identifier and nothing about a communicator. | Until you clear it or change your choice; we re-ask if the version changes |
| Theme preference | localStorage (first party) | Remembers light or dark appearance if you change it. | Until cleared |
| Server request logs | Not browser storage | Our hosting provider logs the request (IP, user agent, URL, time) to serve and protect the site. | Short-lived, per provider retention |
We do not use sessionStorage on this website, and we do not set any third-party cookie. If that changes, this table changes with it and the version stamp on this page moves.
4. How gating works
The consent decision is enforced in code, not just described here. Optional scripts and network calls are registered behind a consent gate: the gate refuses to run anything in an optional category until you have given an affirmative decision for that category, and it re-checks on every change. Because the defaults are off, a fresh visitor who never touches the banner has nothing optional loaded.
Automated tests in our build assert two things on every change: that optional categories default to off, and that a gated task does not execute without consent.
5. Changing or withdrawing your choice
Use the Cookie settings control in the footer of every page, or the button below, at any time. You can withdraw consent for optional categories in one click, and the withdrawal takes effect immediately.
You can also clear site data in your browser, or block cookies for this site entirely. Blocking necessary storage may mean the banner reappears on each visit, because the record of your choice is itself the thing being blocked.
6. Storage in the EyeSay console
The authenticated console at console.eyesayaac.com is a separate origin with its own storage. It uses strictly necessary storage to keep an adult signed in, and device-local storage (IndexedDB) so the communicator app keeps working offline. That local state, including message history, stays on the device by default. See the privacy notice and child privacy notice.
