In the Companion app you describe the real people, places, things, interests and activities in your child's life. Those entries feed the Context Halo, so situational words show up when they are useful — without disturbing a single learned position on the permanent grid.
Now and Next cards help with predictability, but every routine step also carries talk-back language: WHEN?, NOT YET, WHO?, I DON'T WANT, LATER, SOMETHING ELSE. A routine your child cannot question is a schedule, not communication.
Model Mode highlights cells on a mirrored grid so you can show a phrase. It never puts words into your child's ribbon and never makes their device speak. Their voice stays theirs.
Message history is stored locally and owned by the communicator. As a guardian you see derived patterns — how many distinct words were used, how independent selections were, where a word search ended without a result — not a transcript of what your child said.
Install EyeSay to the home screen for a full-screen app. After the first install the interface and their local vocabulary keep loading without a connection. Spoken output uses the device's own built-in voices, and the available voices depend on the device and browser.
